Changing the Item Prices after the VAT Rate change

in Datasym Stockade SQL

Firstly, perform a database backup by going to Tools, Database Backup.

Info – the price changes can be made to several products at the same time and can be increased or decreased by a percentage. However to select products on mass you can only add “Product Groups” so you will need to be aware that all products from the selected groups will be changed unless you remove them manually.

In Stockade SQL go to the “Maintenance” Menu and select “Product Changes”

You will now see the “Product Changes Template Browser”.

Click on the Utilities button (Magnifying Glass).

Select the option “Generate Template”

Enter a code and description for the Template.

Click on the “Select product groups” and/or “Select Product Departments” button(s) and select the group(s) & department(s) that you would like to apply the price changes to then click “OK”

Now select the location. If you only have one location you will still need to select it.

Now click on the “More” tab to show further options.

Select the detail option to load “Prices Only”

Under the “Modify Prices” detail select “Percentage” from the drop down menu. Enter the rate you would like to increase/decrease the prices by i.e. “-2.5” (remember the “-” to make a negative)

Then tick the price levels you would like to have the changes apply to.

Once you click on the “OK” option you will be taken back to the “Products Changes Templates Browser”.

It would be a good idea now to have a quick check of the items that the price changes are going to be applied to. To do this highlight the new template you have created and click on the “Edit” button at the top of the browser window.

Once you are happy with the selected items close the template window to be left with the Template browser window.

*** At this point make sure you have already taken a backup of the system as changes are final ***

You can now set the price changes by clicking the “Apply” button at the top of the browser window. Make sure you have your current template highlighted.

Once the changes have been completed the price changes will filter down to your terminals as they usually do when you add or change products.
