Datasym Paradox Tax Changes

Firstly, perform a database backup by opening the Datasym File Zipper.

Now click on Zip.

The status bar will move across and when it's finished click on Exit.

In Stockade, go to Setup, Preferences, and select the VAT/Tax Rates tab.

With the 15 highlighted, click on Edit.

In the Rate box, overwrite the 15 with 17.5 and the Name to VAT 17.5%.

Click OK, OK.

**Important note: Changing the VAT in Stockade Paradox will result in historical data being affected by the change in VAT. Before changing VAT rates take all reports that you need and then create a database backup.**

Changing VAT rate on Datasym Tills

You will need a keyboard to plug into the till for this. A USB keyboard will plug in and work after a short while. If you have a PS2 (round purple connector), then you will have to reboot the till after plugging it in.

If you're in the till system, exit back to the desktop and then re-open DPOS.

On the first screen, you'll see the six system buttons that enable you to enter the till, do Start of Day etc. At the top of this page, click on the Blue Marble (V6) or the Datasym Logo (V5). Enter your password and you'll get to the Configuration screen. Browse to where it says Items/VAT.

In the VAT section, change the 15 to 17.5, by double clicking on the box to select it, then double clicking again until the number are blue.

Now type 17.5 and press Enter on your keyboard.

To finish, click on Accept in the top right corner.

Start your till up as normal.
